Joe McGivern has been trialling dogs for nearly forty years. His experience in gundog handling and achievements in the field trial world have earned him respect and admiration of his peers alike. in his capacity as an International Field Trial Judge, Joseph has accepted invitations to adjudicate throughout Great Britain and Ireland, most recently as Senior Judge at the IKC Championship last December.

In the early years, Joe would probably be best known for his Retreivers. Nowadays he continues to run Goldens alongside Labradors achieving success with FTW Drumalig Copper in open stakes, and countless tests. However his main success stories in recent years have come via the expoilts of FTCH Bluestone Timmy. As 'Butch' and 'Tim' enter retirement now Joe looks to two of Tims' offspring Larkfield Judy and Bohasset Paddy to continue the success story.

Joe has acquired six acres of grounds located near Gawleys Gate on the shores of Lough Neagh. This ground is specifically used for dog training purposes in an attempt to recreate the natural environment of the field trial.
